God's Masterpiece - Does That Really Include Me?

Have you ever thought about how God created you? He didn't just absentmindedly hold his "pencil" or "paintbrush." Instead, when he looked at the blank canvas of your life, he had a beautiful purpose in mind - a marvelous design. No part of you is by accident. Everything about you is for a reason. Take time to embrace this truth today and every day!

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well (Psalm 139:14).

Do you ever walk up to someone who is drawing and ask them what they're doing? Perhaps they give the quick answer: "Just doodling." When we hear this phrase, we immediately start to think that whatever they are drawing isn't that valuable. Not a lot of attention is being given to what's on the paper, and the pencil drags across the page without purpose.

Have you ever thought about how God created you? Was he "just doodling" too?

Today I want everyone who reads this to know something. I want you to hear this and believe it with all your heart. I want you to know that your Heavenly Father did not think that for one second when he created you!

God created you with intention, care, and purpose.

God certainly was not "just doodling" when he made you. He was not just absentmindedly holding his "pencil." Instead, when he looked at the blank canvas of your life, he had a beautiful purpose in mind - an incredible design. In fact, before you were even born, he had every detail of you planned. No part of you is a mistake. Everything about you is intentional, and God knit you together with love and close, personal intention.

God deeply loves you.

More than just creating you, God didn't give you all that attention to simply let you go on your way. Think about if you have a very special picture or drawing. You don't cast it to the side where it might get destroyed or shove it under a bed to collect dust. No. Instead, you frame it and put it somewhere where you can see it frequently. You protect it, keep it close, and honor it. That closeness and honor you show to that picture reflect the deep love and honor God clothes you with in Christ. He deeply loves and cares for you.

God has prepared for you a beautiful inheritance.

1 Peter 1:3-5 says: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

At a grand unveiling of a new piece of art, there's usually cloth or something covering the painting. People wait with anticipation to see the newest work of art. In the same way, you can eagerly await what God has prepared for you. The inheritance available to you in Christ is ready for you to receive, and you can join the crowd waiting for the cloth to be pulled back to see the glory of God's love and salvation on display. You are a masterpiece made by God's own hands, and he has gone to the greatest distance to show you how much he loves you.

God has made you a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

Sometimes paintings get messy and need to be refurbished. Likewise, sin has tainted and separated us from God, and we too need to be refurbished. Thankfully, God isn't just the master artist who made you (Psalm 139:14); he's also the master refurbisher who can put you back together (2 Corinthians 5:17).

God wants you to know him.

Wherever you are on your journey, remember that God made you with intention. He wants you to know that he made you, and he wants to redeem you so that you can know him forever!
