Pastor Brent has been at Berean since 2007 and loves his role in pastoral care and as an equipper of others in the caregiving ministry.
He earned his B.A. in Bible and Theology from Moody Bible Institute, where he met his wife, Sandie. Hence, he jokingly refers to it as Moody “Bridal” Institute. Brent and Sandie were married in 1976 (you do the math and figure out how many years they’ve been married!)
From there, Brent and Sandie moved to the northern suburbs of Chicago, where Brent completed his seminary studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, earning an M.Div. in Missions. During his ministry years, he has taken Doctor of Ministry courses at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Bethel Theological Seminary, concentrating on Congregational Care and Spiritual Renewal.
Apart from ministry, Brent's favorite things include family time with his four kids and ten grandkids, hiking in the mountains, and quiet Saturday morning coffee time with his sweetheart. If you want to see his eyes light up, ask Brent about the seven years he and Sandie lived and ministered in Sierra Leone, West Africa, focusing on cross-cultural theological education and leadership development.
